Save on Picky Toddler Foods

Picky toddler? It’s incredible to me how so much can change in such a short time. My oldest (who is 2 now) used to eat everything. And I mean, EVERYTHING. Grilled chicken, baked salmon, pork chops, every vegetable, you name it. He loved it all. Now I’m lucky if I can get him to eat anything other than fruit snacks, yogurt, chicken nuggets, and macaroni and cheese. And he’s even refused the macaroni and cheese a few times.

Do you feel guilty when your kid doesn’t eat the way you know they should? Do you give in to their “hunger strikes” as well call them in this house? I know I do. Especially when my husband is traveling and it’s just me here, manning the kitchen against two children who seem to be allergic to anything nutritious like a fruit or vegetable. No such thing as man on man defense when my husband travels. It’s full on zone defense and I often lose. (Is it basketball season? Baseball season? Mommy time out season?!)

Luckily, I am able to feed them the best of some of the processed foods. Thank you Annie’s products. They are organic, made with wholesome ingredients, and I don’t feel THAT bad about the fact that my kids prefer to eat food from a box rather than the home cooked meals I still make in vain (and devour after they go to bed).

Annie’s foods can get pricey, especially when it’s a staple in your home. So here’s a few coupons to help you out.

Good luck with your toddler meals…and may your coffee be stronger than your toddler.  Speaking of coffee, it’s about that time to reheat mine for the 500th time today.

Happy savings,

I'm an attorney licensed in New York and New Jersey. Growing up, I thought I would always be on the career path, maybe have a kid, but continue working until I reached the top. When I met my husband, my priorities shifted in a way I never thought possible. I moved away from NYC, starting working less, got married, got pregnant and had a baby. Then my husband's job relocated us across the country and guess what? We found out we were pregnant again. So, I'm a stay at home mom to two kids 12 months apart, and really learning how to stretch a buck. Come join me while I teach you some of my favorite savings tips and show you some great deals along the way!

  1. Oh I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. I have a 1 year old and he is now at the stage of eating absolutely everything. I am dreading the picky phase. I would give in too. My partner works offshore and it is too much of a battle sometimes when you are alone

    1. Oh yes! The struggle is real! LOL! Definately keep me posted on your little one! I’ll have tons of savings and coupons here for babies and toddlers 🙂
